What Can I Say About Myself?
For those of you that don’t know me, I am originally a
Louisiana girl (from Denham Springs). I grew up there
going to youth rallies, church camp (CYE), lock-ins,
etc. I have always been really involved with my church
family. I left Louisiana just long enough (or so I
thought) to attend college at Harding University. I did
not know what I wanted for a future career, but I knew
one thing, in our family...college was no option, it was
a must. So off to Harding I went. I started out as a
psychology major because I wanted to go into Christian
counseling. Well... Freud (however you spell his name)
and whoever else sounded pretty crazy to me so I thought
it was necessary to move on. I would have loved to go
into youth ministry or something, but in this day and
age being a female and attending the churches I
do...there are not very many jobs like that. I went
through another major or so and then ended up in
Chemistry. I developed a love for the biological
sciences (yes, I know, Chemistry isn’t one of them!). So
I became a premed student and started applying to med
school. Like many applicants, I did not get in on the
first try. So, I moved to Paragould, AR and decided to
teach science for a year at a small private Christian
school (of which I love dearly!). During this year, the
Lord worked on me and I decided that med school wasn’t
for me after all. I continued teaching and became a
certified teacher while I waited for God to show me
where He needed me! Now, I am happy to say, that after 4
years, He has shown me a little bit of direction...a job
in the ministry...working as the ministry coordinator
for the Missionaries for America Program (MAP).
Sometimes it takes a while for us to see God’s special
plan for us. Keep on praying, searching, and working and
God will show you the way! I can see many things in my
life that worked together to prepare me for what I am
now doing. You will be able to say the same too.
What can I say about myself........Most importantly I
love God, and I am working on loving Him more and more
everyday! Do I struggle, you better believe it!! Just
remember, it is all about the journey!!! When you fall
down, get back up! (Don't let Satan win.) I heard a wise
person say, "If you never run into Satan then you must
be going the same direction as him." How true is
that!!!!! I hope that we can encourage each other, so
please write me!!!!!
